Outing to Wasai Kendal - stage 1

Hello again guys, yesterday (Saturday) i went for an outing again with my friend, Khaliq, to Wasai Kendal which is situated around Kampong Kilanas, it wasn't easy for us to find the wasai at first since it was our first time coming there, but thanx to technology (khaliq's gps...thanks dude!) we were able to locate the place without much of a hassle. After parking our car at the small road, we trekked a bit into the jungle to get to the wasai.

i love these dreamy waters, no ND filter yet...but i want one! =)

i slipped and fell right around here..luckily i have quick reflexes...NOT! haha

After staying there for some time, it was time to pack up our things and head out to our next destination, Louis mini zoo which is situated at Jalan Tutong. We'll surely be coming back here soon since this is only stage 1 of the wasai expedition. Im sure there is another wasai around here somewhere.

1st outing after Hari Raya~

Hello guys, yesterday i went for a last-minute outing with my old school mate, i was thinking its about time for an outing anyway...well at first we wanted to shoot the paddy fields in Tutong but we finally decided to go to Tasek Lama hoping to shoot the waterfall but when we reached there the current wasn't running strong enough down stream. Since we reached there already, we have no choice but to make the most of it hehe =) well here goes...

Ahh alas!! Hello again guys, its been a while since i updated my blog. Yesterday, Mr Bobby Chinn of Travel and Living Channel came to DST HQ and had a cooking show all the way up at level 12. The hall was filled with laughter the minute Bobby went up the stage and started cooking. He shared his personal experience with the crowd as well as his cooking tips. This guy surely is an entertainer and a good chef, he has his own Bobby Chinn Restaurant in Vietnam, i hope one day he'll open up a chain here in our beloved country, Brunei Darussalam and get the chance to taste his cooking, but for now the only chance we get is to savour the moments from yesterday. Enjoy~ :-)

Hey guys, it's been a while since i wrote anything here, the news is i just got back from Sabah and on the 24th of January my colleagues and i succeeded to conquer mount Kinabalu. The journey was tiring and full of sweat but it was well worth it. The feeling was unimaginable once we reached the top, with nothing but our headlights and the rope marker to lead us there. It was biting cold but that didn't dampen our spirit, it was a personal milestone for me and my colleagues, it was a great adventure. We came, we saw, we conquer!

Nikon Workshop @ Empire Hotel

Last Sunday, I stood-in for my colleague, KhalRizk, who went to KL on a business trip, for the chance to take part in a photography workshop at the Empire Hotel, it was organized by Nikon and Hua Ho department store. The workshop was fun and there were lots of good food! The talks was given by Cede Prudente, Mr Jollence and Jonathan Tan. The workshop talked about Nature and Wildlife Photography(Cede), ISO and Aperture(Jollence) and Landscape Photography(Jonathan Tan). Here are some pictures from that Sunday, i learn a lot from this course, i hope there will be more in the future. Thanks to KhalRizk for giving me the opportunity, next time we'll go together aight :-)

This morning (Thursday), my friend, Hanjak or Hanzik, and myself went to Pusat Kesenian situated at the heart of BSB to find a jongsarat for him. Seeing that the scenery there was nice i grab the chance to bring my camera with me. Since inside the building cameras were not allowed, i decided to randomly take pictures of scenery and people outside. I didn't shoot much and since we didn't stay there for long, at least. Hello guys, it's been a while since i last made an update, so this morning i went to Kuala Tutong and finally had the guts to drive my car (its not 4x4 and im afraid of burying my car! haha) on the sands and into the other side of the beach~ I was surprised at how serene the place looks and quiet it was! It seems like i was the only person on the beach at the time. Actually i took a lot of pictures just now, but it seems that my software cant seem to open my raw files! Urrghh~ i'll try to find a solution to that and i did a little HDR here, it's my first time so be kind :-P hahaha~

The other day i went to Jerudong beach, its one of the famous spot in Brunei to watch the sunset. I used to go here back then with my friends just to chill and enjoy the breeze. I also remembered watching endless shooting stars one night during Syawal back in 2003. Be it then and now, the place never really changed, its still the same as before, just like memories.

Final Score: Rak Thai 6 - 4 Sensasi F.C

Last night i went to UBD Track and field for a football friendly between Sensasi F.C and Rak Thai F.C, the match was played amid the never ending downpour. I had the chance to test my new lens, but i was limited to just sitting in the "dugout" because i don't want my camera or myself to get wet hehe. This is my first time shooting sports photography and at night as well, it wasn't easy, need a lot of training and know-hows to perfect the technique.

Sensasi F.C had to overcame such difficult odds early in the game because their keeper didn't show up and the lack of players turning up early in the game, early in the first half they had to play with just 10 players on the field and i can't imagine how they managed to keep the scoreline to a reasonable margin. Here's a tribute to team Sensasi F.C, good job guys!

Hey guys, its been a while since i updated my site, it has been a busy weekend for me, hiking and simply just life! Well, last sunday my friends and i went out for our first outing, we went to Imang reservoir at Panchor Murai. It was my first visit there and i was totally surprised at how serene the river looks. Its a good spot for fishing fresh water fishes i guess, and along the way i saw one of the habitat lying on the ground, dead! Well here goes, enjoy =)

DST Group Open Day Carnival 2008 Part 4

By night during the second day of the carnival, NikonD100boi went back and got his gears. He showed me his new sigma 28-200mm macro lens which costs him a whopping $1.6k to buy and he was willing to sell it to me for half of the original price! haha !! im kidding! After going around and taking more pictures of my friends and me, guess who decided to drop by the Kristal-Astro booth? Its none other than Yasmin Hani, wow! NikonD100boi was generous enough to lend me his sigma lens while he settled for his 50mm, here are the pictures from that night, dedicated to Yasmin Hani. DST Group Open Day Carnival 2008 Part 3

The second day of the DST Group Open Day carnival was fun for me, the show started around 1 pm and i was sitting around near the booths when i saw my good friend, NikonD100boi from the distance. At first glance, i did not even see him carry his gears, which was a heartache cause i was really looking forward to shoot pictures with him. Then we stroll around the venue and he gave me a crash course on photography (which was quite embarrassing cause he's a very insistence kind of guy) . The fun really started when we decided to take pictures from the flying fox and here im able to put some of it on the site. Pictures by me and NikonD100boi.

I-vtec or not, this CR-V sure packs a punch with its single cam technology (hahaha). Ok! ok! seriously this car is a good looking one, white color and full bodykit. He had traded his old 1st generation CR-V for the new one and i must say its a good catch. Though he wasnt satisfied with the new CR-V at first, im quite sure he will grow to love it.

For the new CR-V, the spare wheel are no longer placed at the rear, but instead it's beneath the car itself. Side-step and merc like side mirrors. I even saw an ipod adapter between the driver and passengers seat. Thats cool given that this car also comes with a six-disc changer. Lastly, after taking me for a ride in the CAR PARK (hahaha) it was time for my friend to go. After experiencing the comfort of the new CR-V i would like to see how it performs along our coastal highway, its fuel consumption and handling, but i bet it'll be good, cause after all, its a Honda. Congrats Aziz on the new car, and please do take good care of it and dont back up onto the lampost (hehehe).

These cars are sell by tender at DST HQ. Those interested parties should drop by and view for the cars themselves as it is an opportunity not to be missed. The prices vary but reasonable and i saw a lot of business opportunities to be had with these vehicles, the double cab and van surely is. While the top marques are in tip-top conditions, i heard that one of the cars has a very high specification, meaning its a good buy for car enthusiasts, given that the tender starting price and all.

Salam semua~ thanks guys for coming to my open house held yesterday, 12th october, the throng of people coming in and out was amazing and i was extra happy that most of my friends could come. I will post the pictures from yesterday later aite, though not everybody was in the frame dont get me wrong, you guys are always in my mind and that really left a mark in me.
